Award winning dairy farm offering a unique opportunity to be a key part of it’s success. There are two positions on offer.  We are seeking experienced Milkers who can demonstrate a clear focus on quality and cow husbandry skills. Applications welcome from couples/friends willing to share the accommodation  provided in  a recently renovated 3 bed farmhouse. 

The farm:

Recognised for high yielding cows, high quality genetics and profitable milk production, this progressive farm has 1,100 Holstein herd on 1,600 acres. Milking is completed twice daily in a 60 point GEA parlour. The herd are cubicle housed all year and TMR fed.

The position/Applicant:

The main focus of the  roles on offer will be milking twice daily with an emphasis on good milking protocols and skilled cow husbandry.

The successful applicants must have previous milking experience but also be  willing to learn and implement the protocols in place here.

A full driving licence is required. AI  would be an advantage but not essential.

Good references essential.

A recently renovated 3 bed farmhouse will be provided  to successful applicants.

This is a contract position, where the successful person will operate as an agency worker with Farm Solutions. This means that the person will not have sub-contractor responsibilities and all statutory tax deductions and payments will be made by Farm Solutions on their behalf. Hourly pay operates, which includes pay for overtime hours worked.

The Farm:

Interested in working on a successful grassland  'New Zealand' based system dairy farm? This modern, well-equipped farm is looking for a Herdsperson for their 700-cow herd on the 600-acres farm

The position/applicant:

Our client is particularly  interested in applicants with a specific interest  in grassland systems, no experience necessary, moreso the interest and enthusiasm for same. 

This role requires a firm focus on herd health so excellent cow husbandry skills are key and will include calf rearing.  Milking is completed twice daily in a DeLaval 44-point swing over parlour and so applicants should have sound milking knowledge and competence and be capable of managing a large dairy herd. Farm machinery usage will include some tractor driving so a  full licence is essential. 

This is a great opportunity to work and learn on an expanding spring calving dairy farm in Scotland.  Recent graduates with an interest in grassland management  are also welcome to apply.

Accommodation will be provided to the successful applicant and will either be shared  or in a cottage available for a family.

The Farm and the Role

This is an excellent opportunity on a progressive family run dairy farm.

We are seeking applicants who enjoy working as part of a close-knit family team, have a positive attitude and a sound work ethic.
Our client is willing to consider applicants who are relatively inexperienced/have no experience in milking, however, applicants must have a full driving licence with some tractor driving, farm machinery experience and can work well with the dairy herd.

Milking 400 cows twice daily in a 12:24 swingover parlour, the herd are cubicle house all year with TMR feed system in place.

The successful Applicant:

Essentially, this is a second milker position, you will need to:
Work well with the stock.
Have a full driving licence.
Have farm machinery experience.
Have tractor driving experience.
Have a good work ethic and a positive attitude.
Be willing to become part of a close-knit family team.
Provide good references.

Our client is open to applications from couples, as there is a good cottage on the farm suitable for a couple/small family. Farm is in vicinity to schools/villages.

Herdsperson in Somerset Ref 1426   -  Enquire about this vacancy»

The Farm and the Role

This is a great Hersperson position on a progressive family run dairy farm.

With 1200 acres, this farm runs a high yielding dairy herd of 230 cows with plans to expand to 400 cows. Milking is completed twice daily in a 14:28 swingover parlour, the herd are cubicle house with summer grazing. Block calving in operation and will be coming into serving period in October.

The successful Applicant:

Essentially, our client is looking for a competent and responsible Herdsperson to take responsibility for the herd health and welfare to include heat detection and foot trimming and milking duties.

Accommodation suited for a family is provided with the position.
